Contacto de Gaetano de Benedictis. Nació en 1853 de una familia italiana. Estableció en Costa Rica una tienda de abarrotes conocida con el nombre de La Gran Vía, con mercaderías importadas, por él, de todas partes y de Italia muchas de ellas. Más tarde estableció el Hotel Imperial, que durante muchos años fue considerado como el mejor del país. también se dedicó a empresas agrícolas, en las que obtuvo gran éxito. Murió en Nápoles, Italia, en el año 1905. Costa Rica
