Virginia Calderón Cubero, nació en Cartago en 1913, fue hija de Marcelino Calderón Fonseca y Adelia Cubero Figueroa, se casó con Mario Codero Cordero y tuvo dos hijos, Ana Virginia Cordero Calderón y Mario Alberto Cordero Calderón. Virginia Caldero Cubero era microbióloga de profesión y laboró en el Sanatorio Durán, fallece en el año de 1947.
